Research mode
A normal screening lets you change headphones, volume and room between sittings, so two results can differ for reasons that have nothing to do with your hearing. Research mode writes those conditions down and marks a repeat as comparable only when you reproduce them.
Why this exists
Repeatability under fixed conditions is the first thing any screening tool has to demonstrate. Every run recorded here is stamped with its protocol, so the test-retest numbers on the validation page come from sittings that were (genuinely) held constant.
Your protocol
Set this once. Every research run reuses it exactly.
Before every run
- Same headphones, worn the same way and fully seated.
- Same system volume. Don't touch the volume slider.
- Same room, same time of day (can range between 1-2 hours), same background noise.
- Sit still and quiet. No talking or typing during the run. Maintain the same posture as before.
